Rape Culture in India

Rape, a horrible word, has been associated with India quite frequently in the past couple of years. Rape is the most horrible of crimes. More horrible even than a murder. A rape kills a person while that person is still alive. Rape turns a victim into a living dead. India has been seen recently by many as the capital of the Rape crimes of the world. Well, we can't blame these people for saying this because India has seen quite a large rise in the number of rapes in the recent years. It is said that in every 20 minutes a rape case is reported in India.

Recent rape cases in India has shown people the ugly part of the society of India. Be it the Nirbhaya rape case or the Delhi Uber rape case, the dreadful side of a man has been shown to us all. It makes us realize that human is the most dangerous of all the living beings. All these things have given India the tag of a rapist country. According to the National Crime Records Bureau 24,923 rape cases were reported across India in 2012, but experts agree that the number of unreported cases of sexual assault brings the total much higher. India stands at number 4 in the highest rape crime with the figures. These numbers are just horrible.

But, is every Indian male a rapist? The answer is a plain No. A German professor recently tried to reject an Indian student because of the rape crimes in India. India has a large population, a population of around 1.3 billion people and these rapist are a few among them. Not everyone in this country thinks about raping everyone women they see. There are good people in India and they outnumber these bad people heavily. Remember when the Nirbhaya rape case happened, so many men came forward to show their support to the victim and fight for her.

In every society there are some evil people but we can't blame the entire society. I know India has to improve a lot in giving women more protection and making them feel more secure and India has still a long way to go. But there is hope, a hope for a better India. An India where there are no more rapes, where every women is respected by every one. This change will come through better education and through better morals provided by schools, parents and society to their upcoming generations. Lets teach our kids to respect women. Lets empower our women. Lend your support to a rape victim. Don't outcast a rape victim instead outcast the rapist. Lets have stronger laws, better courts and better police. Lets try for a better and more secure India for every women out there.

There is a strong hope after all.

Who are You?

Who are You? I guess it is the question that most of us must have asked ourselves more than often. Do you look into the mirror and ask yourself   WHO ARE YOU ? I know, I do. In this constant battle called life, we get too lost that we actually forget living. We forget what we used to stand for and what we used to believe in. We become something that we always never wanted to be. We go down that path that we know leads to that wrong destination but we still keep going. It is like we can't help it. It is like something is pulling us down there and before we know it, we are already too far ahead on that road, we never wanted to take in the first place, that it is too difficult to come back.  Then one day, you look at the mirror and don't even recognize the person in the mirror. It feels that you are looking at  a complete stranger. It is like your greatest fear is looking right back at you. Then you ask the mirror " WHO ARE YOU ?" So what happens? What makes us loos...

All the worries

As a kid, when you heard about certain stuff like ghosts it gave you the chills, probably, because you didn't understand what ghosts really are.Your only thought was that they are going to hurt you if you saw any of them and that scared you. But as we grow, stuff still remains the same. While most people are not afraid of ghosts when they grow up, probably because they think they don't exist or stop giving a crap about but other fears creep up and they take place of those ghosts. By the way, I am still afraid of the ghosts whether they exist or not. Fears like job security, education, love and countless many more. We get lost in all these fears and worries. An average person doesn't think more than this. He wants a good education, a good job, a good spouse and all the little things in life. But when things don't go according to our plans, we start to loose hope and our worries start. Hope of a better and a happy life is what keeps an average person going through the ...
